I saw the netflix movie, and the DnD bit sounded cool so I started from the first episode of the podcast and holy fuck.
He's so wrapped up in himself, and justifies it by being meta about it. In life, his creedo seems to be that he can be as self obsessed as he wants so long as he calls himself out on it.
There is literally a Harmontown episode where he reads his journals from when he was a teenager and awkwardly forces discussion about them.
It doesn't help that the people he surrounds himself with are wrapped in his cult of personality, like Jeff Davis and his now ex-wife.
