>>88091279>>88091280The Simpsons cast is despised by most of the voice acting industry because they're a case of "ruining it for everybody else".
When their contracts expired, they knew they had Fox by the balls, so they made the insane pay upgrade demands that, at their peak, landed them at just under $500,000 per episode. By that point, the cast had been voicing the characters for 10 years and their voices were too ingrained with the public. They couldn't be replaced.
So as a response, producers went into "panic mode", never wanting to let any voice actor get too comfortable in a role like the Simpsons VAs did, otherwise they might get insane contract renegotiation leverage.
That's why the Looney Tunes characters will arbitrarily change voices from show to show, or the DC and Marvel superhero characters, or the Ben 10 cast, or whatever. If it's a long-running program, recasting is done periodically so that the audience never gets used to a singular voice and no actor ever feels like they "own" a character.
The greed of the Simpsons cast ruined the job security of every other voice actor in the industry. Disney is a special exception because they're pretty much the only studio that hires their VAs on salary. Everyone else is left with no chance of ever being able to renegotiate their contracts for reasonable pay increases because of the Simpsons VAs.
