>>88065313The Drama Tag was a plot device in Shortpacked! It's like those pull-out plastic tags that you pull out of cheap toys in order to activate the electric bits (which Willis would be oh so familiar with).
Basically, the Drama Tag is hidden somewhere within Galasso's store. One day, Robin (being the dumbass she is) finds it and pulls it, which results in 'serious drama' happening in the strip for the first time (namely, Amber's abusive Dad showing up). And since the tag can't be put back in, all of the crazy drama bullshit that now characterizes Willis's work starts showing up en masse, despite Robin's attempts to make things wacky and non-consequential again.
And later, Leslie goes into an alternate timeline where the tag was never pulled and its influence took over the entire world. And in this timeline, Ethan never came out and married Amber in a sexless marriage based on Batman jokes, Galasso's wife never died and Willis draws like he did back when the strip started.
So to answer your question, Galasso's wife developed the Drama Tag because, in a world without drama, nobody dies. And she ended up dying anyways because Robin pulled the tag in the future, so in order to be a source of drama for Galasso in the future, she must die in the past.
It is a complete mess, but it is still the best thing in Shortpacked, and better than anything DoA has done.
