He is a man who stubbornly refuses to learn. He refuses to better himself. I mean look at that comic. The art isn't BAD. It's clear he has some grasp over the essentials of composure and character. I daresay he's a better artist than *I* am. But his art has not improved in however many years he's been doing this. It's almost ridiculous how little he's learned over the years. Compare any long-running comic's first strip and latest strip and you'll see a massive change.

People routinely give him advice, not out of malice, but out of a genuine desire to see him improve, to get out of the rut he's in, but he won't take it. He fights back against any chance to better himself.

Y'know, there aren't many people in this world that I WANT to see fail. Dobson isn't on that list. He's annoying and arrogant but if he actually made the decision to work on his art and improve himself, I'd welcome it with a resounding joy. He SHOULD be better than this. Not because I, as a consumer, want a better product, but because working to improve will eliminate his own stress and frustration. He'll feel BETTER as a result. He just needs to put in the work.
