Was this show ever given a chance?

The tv in my living room is on nick pretty much all day every day, and I think the only time I ever saw a rerun was around 6-7 in the morning when I was getting ready for work. And that was loooong ago.

Nick started giving it a chance when it was too late, durning the end of season 1. Before that they were misscheduling it hard, placing it after PGBC on Saturday morning, then there was that messy 7PM premiere block, that was untraditional for Nick and ran against new episodes of Disney Channel sitcoms. Because of that they never even aired reruns. It was a bad time for Nick, if they premiered it right now, it would be in a way better place popularity-wise (even though since they started premiering it durning prime-time, it easily outrates 95% of CN's line up)

Source? New show from Phineas & Ferb creators flopped hard, they didn't greenlit the Vasques pilot he worked on for 4 years. It seems like Disney XD may end this era of throwing things from famous showrunners on the wall and seeing what will stick burning more bridges than CN after CN Real fiasco

Nick really baffles me. According to greenblatt they gave him anything he wanted during production. They let him hire whoever he wanted, they let him have a full orchestra, they let him do whatever episode themes he wanted

Then when it comes time to actually cash in on their investment they completely dropped the ball by fucking up the scheduling and then not advertising it. It's insane.

At the end of the day, the truth is, airing spogebob reruns is way more profitable than giving a chance to a show that the audience didn't felt connected with from the beginning because of bad schedule management. That's why both Loud House and Alvin worked well, they were premiered with in a primetime bomb format.

Most of them are ok at best, and there are more of what I call "Harvey's Scar jokes", where characters act entirely unsympathetic to situation or their friends. Also, the season generally feel "less". There is even less music in it so far. The only compositing i can remember is the "many parts" one

Steampunks alone is gives a bunch of season 1's best episodes a good run for it's money.

I'm not that guy you're upset with, just saying Steampunks literally opens with Irving taking the still-unhatched egg to the doctor and leaving Harvey with Moff. The episodes take place before Michelle hatches.

For some reason I thought Michelle hatched at the end of S1 but it was the start of S2, so yeah, you're right. They did still show Steampunks out of order.

These threads just make me so sad. I love this show and want to support it but Nick's all but killed it already.
