The year was 1977.
I was in the 7th grade.
I was still reading Archie comics and was a huge Ramones fan.
Everybody thought I was a weirdo for being into them.
This thread proves that I'm having the last laugh.
This thread also proves that punk rock is now dad rock.
Thanks for posting this story.
As soon as the comic book store opens I'm gonna invest in each individual copy.

This man was the founder of PUNK MAGAZINE!
Punk magazine along with Rock Scene and to a lesser extent Creem and High Times were one of the first magazines to articulately document what was happening in the New York punk scene in 1976 at CBGB and Max's Kansas City AS IT WAS HAPPENING!
He was not only a big fan of The Ramones but was also close personal friends with all of them as well. He also took art lessons from Harvey Kurtzman the original founder of MAD. He also did the illustrations of the lyric sheet to Rocket to Russia.
Read the book Please Kill Me by Legs McNeil and Jillian McCaine.
Now if only somebody would come up w/a comic adaptation of Rock and Roll High School!
