Very disappointing IMO. I loved Phineas and Ferb and this doesn't even come close. No real plot. Not interconnected plots. No songs. And Weird Al's voice doesn't fit the character.

and as it is, P+F was pushing the boundary with the sort of.. uninvolvedness of the title characters.. how nothing ever really challenged or bothered them

Almost no cable offers decent bitrate, I'm pretty sure Google Fiber and DirecTV are the only providers that look half-decent... I have U-Verse and it's probably even worse than what you have, they make all 400 channels AND my broadband share a CAT-5 cable running into my house.

DirecTV has good bandwidth and bitrate, picture quality is better than your average cable.
The whole "losing connection all the fucking time whenever there's bad weather" thing is pretty much an American problem, one caused by installers not knowing what they're doing. The majority of pay TV in the UK is satellite and it's not nearly as common of an issue.
That being said, there's a few reasons I haven't had it since 2011

I don't know why everyone still harps on about this. Running a show probably ain't as easy as it seems. Hirsch didn't even like working for Disney. The guy's at his best when he's being a lot more irreverent; check out his work from CalArts. Also she's turned/looking in that direction for a reason.
That being said, no, the animation is not particularly high budget or graceful, but Disney still has many of the best looking cartoons on TV now. For one thing they actually figured out how to do tweened Flash in an appealing way with Wonder Over Yonder, Atomic Puppet, the Mickey shorts, etc.
You can't really argue this looks worse than Phineas and Ferb

well...the first three episodes did not achieve hooking me up in the slightest.

Milo just comes off too disconnected from reality and the threat he is facing on daily basis. That might work with Doctor Who, since he is centuries old, but a high school student? Not buying it.

He had ONE bright moment, when he took down the stoic mask and asked the token google friend, if having a normal life would make him in any way happier. That he in fact enjoys the thrill and the randomness that surrounds him. I loved that! But he went back to his blank, thousand yard stare, old self immediately afterwards.

Is this cartoon only an excuse for animators to have fun and wreak havoc on their imaginary city and being paid by doing so?

If they do not make the main protagonist more appeal-able, not even catchy songs will be able to save this cartoon. That would be a darn shame coming from the creators of P'n'F series.

Well I mean.

To be totally fair.

Phineas was basically just there to explain their invention of the day and only showed emotion in the specials, where the emotion is that he's mad, and always at Candace.

So it's pretty much just more of the same in that sense.

what sets Phineas and Milo apart (so far) is that Phineas smiled, frowned, showed at least some kind of an emotion. I do not require them to go overboard with it, it does not need to be a Steven Universe "muh feels" fest. Just simple stuff.

It is okay, if Milo will be autistically blind to Melisa's affection, we know that is, where their relationship will stay for the rest of the series. Just please, have him at least smile from time to time!

I actually think his stoic persdonality is a bonus. This is someone who's lived his whole life like this. Of course he's used to it. The contrast between his reactions and everyone else's is part of the appeal. The entire scene where he put on the seat-belt was great.

Dan found a whole box of old artwork and posted some of it on Twitter a few days ago. Along with a bunch of early Phineas and Ferb stuff, there were a couple images of a proposed Mickey Mouse series that would have had fairy tale segments.

They actually predate Phineas and Ferb and were reworked into a single segment and finally dropped. Dan and Swampy threw them into Doof 101 and OWCA just for the sake of finally getting them onscreem

Doof 101: The Series would be great but I'm pretty sure at this point that it was a proof of concept deal for Milo Murphy showing that they could do a show set in a school and without Phineas and Ferb.

Much as I would like to see a cameo from Heinz or the other main characters, they're probably reluctant to do something like that early on because the rest of the episode would get lost in the shuffle if that happened.

It'd be better to build towards that sort of thing by throwing in some of the background characters we saw a lot or minor characters like The Farmer and His Wife.

I watched the show and had some good laughs but its still rough around the edges. But then again I wasn't sold on P and F with the roller coaster/ robo dog episode so its not like I was expecting to get blown away. It probably doesn't help that both plots where "we where going somewhere but bad luck happened". I think when we get introduced to the cast things will have more room to grow.
