She's an awful leader. She knows this and even questioned her leading capability. I don't know why they think putting Carol as one of the lead for cw2 was a good idea. She can follow orders though and can be very one-track-mind about it. She's the comrade you want to be on your side when fighting but not the leader.
Control issue? Yeap, huge one. As much as she can take orders like the soldier she is, when on the field and in the midst of a battle, she could go "fuck authority." She's really really hard on herself. She's a train wreck with self destructive tendencies that would echo in her impulsive, violent actions.
She really just needs a competent writer to play with her dysfunctionality-self redemption cycle. There's a bit of a Frank Castle in her. A bit of a Judge Dredd. A whole lotta Mar-Vell. She'd been mind wiped twice but she returns back to a certain personality type.
Throw her on a battlefield - that's where he spirit belongs. Give her a villain that she could go full out rampage mode with. or make her the villain and gave her a mental breakdown
