Rose did not kill Pink Diamond. Rose is a Quartz type gem, who was born on the Earth Colony under control of Pink Diamond. It wouldn't make sense for her to turn on her creator simply because she found value in the organic life present on the planet....
Pink Diamond was killed by another fellow Diamond in a power struggle for who gets Earth and Rose was somehow framed for it. I believe the diamond responsible is White Diamond.I also believe Rose has had some interaction with her, since one of her vassals is a White Pearl. Where did Rose Quartz manage to recruit a White Pearl on a Pink Diamond occupied planet...? Pink Diamond would have a Pink Pearl. The only explanation would be that White Diamond visited Earth in order to stage a coup, and take control of it away from Pink Diamond. White Pearl finds out about this, and tries to warn Pink Diamond but meets Rose Quarts along the way. The rest that happens in between, im still speculating....
