>>86032605Well Rorschach admired the Comedian and President Truman. The Comedian because he found him to be efficient and tough and because he percieved him as a man who fought for his country , Truman because his mother mentioned that his dad liked him.
However Dan is the only person, IMO, that Walter considered a friend and the only one in the whole book that he apologizes to for hurting his feelings.
And I think it mainly has to do with the fact that Dan treated him with respect, was polite to him and the only one who put up with his shit.
The movie also kind of adds to their relationship, like Rorschach following Daniel back to his home after the Comedian's funeral because he was keeping an eye on him, Daniel being friendlier towards Rorschach (and reacting to his death).
Also maybe it's just me but Rorschach seemed jealous of Laurie in the movie, the scene where he sees Dan back in uniform he is cranky about Laurie being the one who motivated him to be Nite Owl again and later when they are alone inside Archie he brings up Dan being soft "especially with women"
