But anon, My War Gone By is amazing and his best Punisher stories are the ones with minimal comedy. If anything he should stick strictly to war stories.

Not Nick Spencer, that's for sure. Superior Foes was a fluke. His Ant-Man, another comic intended to be comedic, is mediocre at best and tries far too hard to be like Superior Foes.

It's because Foes was the result of a great collaboration. Spencer was only half of it. Lieber's visual humor is just as strong, if not stronger than Spencer's writing

All of Nick Spencer's villains try to hard to be like Superior Foes. Red Skull and especially Zemo read like that sort of quirky super-villain archetype that sort of reminds me of most MCU villains.
