but it was never a SUPER funny joke, so it kinda made you wonder if it was building on something or if it was just .. flavor.
Then they did a few jokes about the fact that he was the butt of all the jokes.. which.. almost felt cringey, but then got better? it was weird. the pacing was fucking weird.
actually i feel like a lot of the modern cartoons are suffering from the 11-minute format when what they really want to do is tell occasional epic 44-minute startrekky kinda stories. instead they spread them out over a season.
anyway the stuff they ended up doing was... a surprise at least! but i can't say it was a good surprise.
