And yeah, this is familiar. A lot of people I knew growing up, and going to university could be flaky dicks like this too.
Not necessarily this mean, by and large, but dicks.
I think the best thing about most of them is that they at least went "halfsies" on stuff and paid their own way.
I hovered somewhere between being "Owl" and "Werewolf Jones". I got invitations for things they were too lazy to do or just couldn't, but I also got perverse respect for being a little nuts, too. People knew I would hit them under the right circumstances. I could always drink a scary amount of alcohol.
That gets you respect in college, binge drinking culture. It's not good, really, but it's something.
