archer has always had short seasons but this is ridiculous only 10 episodes a major deviation from the normal 12 with 11 and 12 being a 2 part conclusion to the end of the season while setting up the next one

I think FX has them on a very short leash and if the ratings don't improve over previous overall they aren't getting renewed.

Also they've had at least one lead animator jump ship which might mean Reed's getting tired of making the show.

Just watched 1 through 5 these two weeks.

4 is not as good as 3, but my god is 5 abysmal. When they decided to give Pam more than 4 lines per episode it was all downhill from there.

They almost stopped doing the "one scene asks a question and the next one starts with an answer" too. That was the best part of the show.

Surprisingly, the only good characters left are Archer and Lana.

I have seen those too and no it doesn't. They aren't as bad as season 5, sure, but they never really recuperated back to season 4 level either.

The show used to be a constant barrage of new jokes and smart references to the show itself. Now it's just repeating self-created memes and just saying the name of a movie.

basically every season sucks at the end though because they end too quickly and usually abruptly and nothing gets solved

Dude, she was a meme spouting fiend. Nothing about her that season made her even remotely funny. It was cringe-worthy.

Then Cheryl just repeated the first joke she ever had on the show by changing name and yelling her own special meme.

Mallory started crying every other episode for some reason, Krieger became one-note, Ray disappeared for half the season.

Everyone was insufferable.

Well, that finale seemed rushed, like they could have used two more episodes to build up the cyborgs and what shit, rather than just the one.

Also, that CIA episode seems even more out of place since it had nothing to do with anything and wasn't very good.

And I was gambling on a twin dealie with Veronica Dean because that hostage episodes had her characterization so different.

I could live with Archer being dead. My problem is that it was a character from this season that did him in instead of a character that has been with the show for awhile. Then again, this whole season built the dusty cunt as the villain so I get why they did it that way.

It's overtly obvious the plan was always for Archer to get shot and for the Archer cyborg to get rekt. The only way Archer is dead is if the show doesn't get renewed.

I wouldn't mind if they made a bunch of Archer bots and the entire next season is them having an army of 'the worlds greatest spy' with more focus on the rest of the cast, only to discover that one of them was the real Archer all along.
