I just realized:
>In the beginning, we were a small group of people who just really wanted to fuck the rabbit. Everyone who was interested was a furfag.
>Then we started picking up normies after that sloth trailer. People legitimately interested in the movie, leading the threads to become less rabbit fucking, more discussion.
>Then the first foundations and staples of a fandom were laid, fanfic writers, drawfags, the works joined in. Because these were semi lewd, the furry aspect was still there, but nowhere near as prominent.
>Fanfic then gets shunted off of /co/, among other things, mods crack down, threads are all discussion and memes. Furfags are a minority, or they're just concealing it.
>Movie finally arrives, everyone's hyped, lots of discussion, things are great, fan art is at an all time high. A calm before the storm.
>Enter Weaver, verifying our status as a true fandom, and causing a mini-civil war over it. Weaver, along with Chumpy, split the threads almost right down the middle, taking a large furry following. They all leave for /trash/.
>/co/ is now left with the discussion oriented anons, /trash/ now has the creativity and furfags, two parts of the whole, now seperated.
>/trash/ is essentially /co/ 6 months ago at this point, while we sit here and talk about box office numbers and Blu-Ray features. We've come full fucking circle.
Funny how that worked out, but now I'm depressed that I may never see another /co/ thread as comfy as the mid-January early March periods. /trash/ is probably the closest we can get, even if it means wading through rampant furfaggotry.
