>>82213082Hm, I see what you mean.
I try to define it as being a mix of both the generally best episode (you know, funny, good character action, good dialogue, good animation, inventive and imaginative, ect) and something I find defines many of the main aspect of the show.
That's why I side with this
>>82208479, DD has
>Finn and Jake side by side creaming badies>You get a good enough feel for their characters to understand them and be invested even if you're unfamiliar with the show>An interesting setting full of creative and fun monsters for the duo to fight>Good jokes, gags, dialogue, all that stuff>Implication of something dark and terrible under the cheery exterior (what with their dad having died a gruesome death in the past)>The ending which is a great example as to how Finn and Jake bring out the best in each other, plus it's an awesome action sceneFinally, Finn and Jake walking into the sunset with their loot, wistfully talking about their dead paw, is the perfect mix of happy and sad that the best of Adventure Time nails.
I think kind of trimming the show down to just focusing on the random, surreal humor is kind of missing the point, but people judge things differently and shit.
