>>81700476>>81701036The claim that Trayvon was smashing Zimmerman's head into a sidewalk is supported by no evidence, and was in fact pointed out by the investigating team to be completely in-congruent with the forensic examination of both Zimmerman and the scene of the encounter. He was almost definitely lying about that.
We still don't know how the fight began - all we have to go on is Zimmerman's word. Every witness that has claimed to have seen the conflict has later either revealed when under oath that they hadn't seen as much as originally implied, or they hadn't seen anything at all.
The frustrating thing about this case is that it's impossible to tell what happened. We only really know a few things. The first is that it's Zimmerman almost definitely believed his life was in danger when he pulled the trigger - stress tests are not 100% guaranteed to get the truth, but they're not bat at it, and this is what the tests Zimmerman submitted himself to revealed. The second is that Zimmerman's version of events is highly unlikely - has Trayvon been causing the amount of had trauma to him Zimmerman claims in such a fashion he claimed, it would not only be apparent after a forensic investigation, but it would also be highly unlikely that he'd have the presence of mind to withdraw his firearm and shoot it. He most likely had his weapon readied when Trayvon accosted him, or he accosted Trayvon.
The tragedy of all this is that Zimmerman had no reason to follow the guy. There was no indication that he was doing anything.
What happened is a mystery, but that fact remains.
