Just on the off chance your sincere. Batman getting BTFO isn't the problem, its that he never really accomplishes anything. There isn't any real moment of achievement. Nothing that captures the core of the character. He isn't a detective, one aspect of the character. He isn't a ninja. He isn't able to invent or design anything. He charges into Penguins office at the end of Book One and nearly dies only for Alfred to come in and murder Penguin.
Johns does this to characters he doesn't like. He did it in Shazam, turning Billy into a selfish prick. He turned Diana into Thor with boobs in Justice League. There's just something mean spirited about it. And I can stomach the fact that something isn't for everyone, but if you changed the names of the characters, this book could be about blue beetle. It could be about a completely different character. There is a core, what makes a concept function. It was missing in MOS and its missing in BEO.
