>>81061310Honestly I'm not sure if animated films are allowed to compete in this category (though "Nightmare on Elm Street" was nominated back in 1993 - lost to Jurassic Park) but honestly I think it should be considered.
Then again, I'm sick of all the CGI vomit and always think to myself "Jesus if you're gonna have like 50% of the film be CGI anyway, why not make the whole thing animated?"
Right now I think we can bank on this movie getting at least nominated for Best Animated Feature, with possibly Best Score, Best Song and- in a long shot (if they want to be as generous to this film as they have with Pixar ones) - Best Sound Editing, Best Screenplay, and Best Picture.
It is up to us, though, to make sure this movie doesn't get forgotten by voters when Moana and Finding Dory come out. I learned that last year when Lego was snubbed and HTTYD2 lost to Big Hero 6.
Promote this film long after it leaves theaters.
