The Legend of Sarila was actually released BEFORE Frozen.

It's not the movie's fault their shitty American distribution company decided to rename that shit for the home video market in hopes of cashing in on Frozen's success

Yeah, they pull that kind of shit sometimes with less-known movies that aren't as marketable as Disney stuff. Like how "Super K - the Movie" got renamed into "Kiara the Brave" and had the not-very-important girl character in the cover, to make people confuse the movie for Pixar's Brave.

"Help! I'm a fish" had a pretty unfortunate case of this happen to it too. They decided to rather make it look like a crappy cheap ripoff of Shark Tale or Finding Nemo, instead of trying to sell the movie on its own merits. Kinda sad if it does genuinely sell better under a disguise of a ripoff movie.

At first, it'd be like "yes, a US company got interested, the movie has a distributor in the US market! Woo!" and then you'd see that they'd just gone and renamed the movie and also turned your original movie based on an Inuit legend into a cheap-ass knockoff of a Disney movie that came out nearly a year after yours through imitating it with the title and the new cover and go "…oh".

That's gotta sting, dude.

I feel like I am getting lead poisoning by just looking at those covers.

I feel really bad for everybody who works on those movies. They must go into work knowing they are making a shitty flick to rip off dumbass consumers & if they have any talent, they aren't going to showcase them there.

Does anybody know anyone who has worked on such degrading productions? Does anyone like what they do? Do they ever go on to better work?

But what disgusts me the most is it probably works. Retards who think they're picking up some film that's popular (but might itself suck) in the supermarket probably generate more cash then people looking for something decent. Fuck, I would market things this way if I was a marketer, you've got to make a living. Audiences and consumers are shit and all-around idiots.

Could it be pricing? I remember being about 5 or 6 and my mom would get me those bogus Barbie dolls with the limbs you could just pop out of their sockets with ease. Her explanation was that Barbie was just too expensive. Maybe the knock offs look similar, but are much more affordable.
