If this was the 80s, then she'd have to fight nothing, because she was perfectly fine with who she was and at peace with herself.
Nowadays, I'd say a combination of incredibly frail creatures made of broken bones and sagging wrinkled skin who can nonetheless paralyze her with just a single touch; swirling gusts of dense untouchable fog that she can't even graze no matter how fast or hard she hits; and one shadowy humanoid monster who chases her down, beats her within an inch of her life, but never finishes the job, always leaving her just alive enough to heal herself so they can do it all over again and again and again...

Sounds cool. Some monster that shows up blocking doors or passageways and she can't even touch it, the thing just effortlessly flicks her away as she keeps throwing herself at it, until her body completely falls apart and she loses consciousness, and when she wakes up it's gone... 'till the next time.
What the Hell, it's a big town, maybe it can have both. Gatekeeping monster impeding her progress and Pursuer monster wrecking her up but never killing her.

Well, if the Gatekeeper is there to punish her for destroying lives in her own quest to evolve/advance, then the Pursuer would be punishment for trying to get others to kill her for her. Which is probably why I'm totally seeing it as a monstrous, nightmarish version of Cassandra.
