>>80655055I'm not gonna lie: romance has the potential to not be easy to let develop inside a series without it changing heavily the character dynamics, or taking the narrative to somewhat uncomfortable places, on occasions. That's the reason why most works of fiction prefer to keep character relationships in perpetual stasis — only letting them come to a resolution in the very last bouts of the story. Sometimes, not even then.
It's not surprising then how some viewers would prefer for Star and Marco not to become a romantic couple, seeing that change as too drastic and unappealing: I am personally not one of them, as I think that if Starco became canon, Nefcy would do her darnedest to maintain her series as energetic and interesting as before.
In fact, I welcome those stories that are not stuck into status-quo limbo: even when they don't end up well, they are far more fresh and interesting, to me, than the many "safe" and "by-the-number" counterparts.
I've only seen a handful episodes of Kim Possible, so I can't give a judgment about it, but I feel that even though large part of the audience had not liked the development of KimRon in execution, there is a non-small number of people that can surely appreciate the idea that at least an attempt at it was made, instead of just letting the relationship between the MC remain immutable throughout the series.
