Maybe he's been hunting down the Mask and agreed to help Shirley track down the thief while secretly wanting to destroy it? Also, are we going to make any attempt to incorporate Aku into the series. I think Dave in Part 7 is the most appropriate. He seems like the kind of roadblock to show up and absolutely turn everything to shit and baffle everyone while fitting the atmosphere. I think Snoopy is slated for Part 3's enemy trump card.

The Pillar Men in part 2 are striving to achieve perfection, right? It's the entire reason for their battle of supremacy. Nobody has thought of how the protagonists first find out about this clash.

That reminds me, how much time will pass between parts? The one thing that always bugged me about JoJo was the lack of different crews meeting, so I'd like to see past characters appear in new parts, even if it's only a cameo.

I'm for part 3 because of how he is the perfect way for Tom to learn to value his team mates since they are the only why he would be able to defeat DAVE. Also, if he is a reoccurring villain, he can be used to kill off any party member that could be seen as over powered.

Appearance: Likely a devil-like humanoid wearing a green skintight suit and sporting sharp claws (like her baby shredder costume)
Part appearances: Likely 4 or 6

There were several suggested abilites:

First one:
When a target is hit by [THE BITCH IS BACK] they are instantly teleported to the last place that they slept within the last 24 hours. If they have not slept in the last 24 hours they will fall asleep on the spot.

Second:
Causes anything she holds or touches to have chainsaw-like properties, from simple tools to pieces of paper to even her own hair, skin, and nail clippings. Even fire can be turned into sawblades; for example her using a flamethrower on someone would not only cause them to get burned but also horribly maimed with blood flying around as if they were hit by burning chainsaws.

Third:
Activates when Vicky enters a building, preventing all living things from entering or exiting until the user leaves or is forcibly removed. The Stand then begins patrolling the building through the hallways and vents at high speeds. It cannot enter rooms, but will attack any individual it come across during its rounds. The Stand's secondary ability allows it to teleport victims to random rooms in the building by stabbing its claws through their head, this does no physical harm to the victim but instead knocks them unconscious.

I think she would make a great prison guard for part 6.

I vote no, it kind of over-complicates things, and it kind of sucks because it makes all the efforts and good deeds done in Parts 1-6 completely pointless.

I think that role could be conceivably filled by any strong enough villain. meanwhile, DAVE has a power that literally could not fit part 7's identity theme better if you tried. I'm also of the opinion that its current incarnation doesn't really make for a good fight. Tom just has to walk away and let his teammates gang up on him. he can't even get involved and truly use teamwork because he'd be worthless fighting a Stand with nothing

someone suggested a slightly better version last thread but it still didn't quite solve the problem of "throw other people at him to win"

This is the same kind if problem Made In Heaven made; literally what was the point? I get that Araki needed a way out of Shonen Junp, and wanted to stop reusing characters, but it still kind of sucked. It was a great ending though, so at least he worked with it.
Plus it could be nice to have character cameos in 7 and 8.

Well the design I thought up was interesting at least, [Mean Green Mother] would START looking something like Swamp Thing, admittedly with a face that was basically Plank and a huge toothy grinning mouth running between the shoulders just under the head. But eventually it would take root into a form more like Audrey II.

The outline mentions Courage beating Wile E. solo, and one guy in the last thread suggested one of Eustace's minions destroy Hank's truck on the way to Shirley's. Maybe have Wile E. also be the one who destroys the truck? He could be too powerful for Hank to defeat, and Beetlejuice would hide his power level again to force Courage to unlock his potential. Courage could just book it to Shirley's the first time they fight, which lets us introduce Samurai Jack in a cool way as he scares off Wile E. with his swordsmen prowess.

Mask is evil. Jack hates evil. Just handwave it so that his sword draws him to the most evil thing in a given area, we don't need to go too deep just because of Jack's natural warrior tendencies.

I've been keeping an eye on it. the pattern is that the votes are about even, then part 3 slowly craws up to a clear lead lead, finally a ton of part 7 votes come in around the same time to even it out.
The only one I know is inflated is the one for "REEEEEEEE" since 14 of those votes happened in about a 3 hour period and then there hasn't been any more since.

Well, it's possible since DAVE is a robot and he could still be around years later if he isn't completely wrecked, but not many characters get to be in more than one part and that solution would kind of undermined the whole reason there is a debate over this. this was never about if he was better for part 3 or 7, form the start most people have said that he would be great for part 3, but the problem is letting him into part 3.

How about we just set all DAVE discussion aside until it is time to start working on part 3? Then we can make the final decision. Till then, let's just put hum in the pasta under UNASSIGNED CHARACTERS with a note that he is for part 3 or 7 and will be discussed when the time comes.

Can we all agree this is the best move to make?

if you look at the last thread and note the MS Paint drawfag's stuff he emulates Araki's design pretty closely and even his Stands are usually more literal interpretations than what Araki would go for. it's uncommon for them to visually reflect their powers - they instead emulate their owner's personality in a way that's abstracted enough so that you'd probably only be able to half-guess as to what they represent

it's honestly the one thing I want flat out thrown out of the project. I just don't like any of the writing behind it. its only worth is that it touches on the escapism of having a waifu but this was written before we decided an entire part would be Waifu Ocean. I think I would just rather have Daffy represent escapism subtly through his powers and monologues than touch most of the girlfriend plot. it turns really uncharacteristically edgy and seems to be played entirely straight

I figured they could both come to the realization that they both were sparked from memes and they could have an emotional middle ground or at least an understanding of each other. I figured that aside from the zoot suits they were set up as rivals because they were both memes, a classic and a forced meme. Imagine his future self was some kind of antagonist in Part 7 or some shit. Like some enigmatic old man wearing his kingly garb, riding his horse. The protagonists could get the wrong idea from him, assuming he's one of the President's lackeys, and rile him up for a fight where he absolutely near destroys them. Then he fucks off when he realizes the misunderstanding and quietly goes on his way.

If we start chaning protagonist for part 8 while we've barely gotten past part 1, it'll likely just change again and again.

Having the suggestion as a character is cool. But fucking forcing it into a protagonist role will start shitwars. Honestly they could try a Gadget and have their suggestion be a sub-plot so their character still has a chance to shine without changing everything else.

Bobby might work better as a captive. Eustace tried to hire him, but Bobby refused to join because he knew his dad wouldn't approve of such an evil power. Angered, Eustace locked him in a cellar with a bunch of Courage side characters who pissed him off. Keeps the most emotional parts of the climax focused on Courage and Eustace.

I'd prefer it that the Part 1 cast show up in later parts briefly as veterans in this whole bizarre business. Hank at least will become a prominent member of the Strickland Propane Goodwill Foundation and be mentioned in Part 4 as a wealthy Texan gentleman who helps fund it with the fortune he amassed by inventing ways to make more and more machines run on clean, efficient propane.

Maybe Hank could be looking for his son the whole way through, asking around while also taking the opportunity to spread awareness of the efficiency of the clean burning fuel that is propane. Then he stumbles upon Courage and helps him out because he reminds him of Ladybird. Eventually they encounter Dale and Hank realizes their paths are more intertwined than he initially believed as Dale warns of Eustace endangering Bobby with his influence.

Seeing as Hank shows up again we could always have him fight one of these guys in a later part. I'm leaning towards the Bobby fight because it fits the more serious tone of this arc. A lot of the parts should get solidified timelines like this once characters are well agreed upon, I guess it dives a better sense of direction to the story. But we should work with what we have first and foremost.

Hank cares deeply for his truck, but also one of the few things Eustace was shown to actually care about was his own truck.

Would Hank and Eustace get into a fight about proper care and maintenance for trucks? I feel they could have some truck related conflict or maybe Hank would think Eustace isn't all bad since he cares so much about his own truck.

Someone talked about in Hanks first encounter with Eustace he is actually trying to sell him propane. We can have this esceltae to them talking about whether or not propane is good for their trucks or something and this sparks their rivalry. Or we can incorporate it into their final encounter as a way for them to sympathize with each other.

I love the characters/monsters in Courage. They all had a bit of depth or personality, and I wish we could incorporate a lot of them into the story but we are pretty heavy in the characters section. I like the idea though.

They have always been awake, but they have had trouble creating the formula for perfection.

It was not until recently that Yzma (Alchemy:Mode) managed to find a way to create the perfect being potion.

Now the pillar men divided into factions fighting for who deserved it the most.

Of course, the heroes learn about this while fighting the..... less than perfect test subjects at first. Then getting embroiled in the war.

They are more sensitive to smells, heightened intellect and thought processes.

That's why Kronk was Yzma's lab assistant. And why she put up with him for so long. No one else had a :Mode: similar to hers.

That's why Kronk's changing sides turns the tide of battle for the heroes. They're having trouble beating the sheer amound of Pillar-Men, so when Kronk comes around and gives them Protein Spinach Puffs, they get the boost they need to buy Johnny Bravo time to stop Kuzco.

OK so here's a wacky idea for part 3. Friend Like Me is under the control of whoever has the lamp right? In the pastebin, we have it that at some point Aladdin dies, but his stand is one of those stands that keep on going after the user dies, kinda like Super Fly. So what if Daffy kills Aladdin in order to get Friend Like Me and uses his wishes to make himself more powerful and this is how he gains Carolina in the Morning? It even works with the lyrics of the song.

He uses his first wish to actually take himself away from the fight and action and away to Carolina. So Tom is now also trying to get Daffy to blow his third wish on something stupid, which I think works with One More Time's power. For instance "I wish I could see that damn cat one more time so I could clobber him!" Then once that happens it's just a matter of Tom waiting out the effects of the wishes until Carolina in the Morning is almost powerless, propelling them out of the book world. What do you think, good idea?

So I was thinking about Vicky's Stand, and I looked over most of the Stands and the few Stands that aren't humanoid are just objects, so I thought, instead of another humanoid Stand, why not try something different, especially since part 6 had a lot of really weird shaped Stands. So the idea is it's like a jellyfish, with knives hanging from it, so it can float really fast and cut you to teleport you around, needless to say I took a lot of influence from Manhattan Transfer

Did we ever decide on if we wanted to use the cereal trio or the Real Monsters? It changes depending on where you read. Other than that, there's a lot of material for drawfriends to work with. Maybe getting a few details squared away would be good, but we basically have it locked down.
We should let drawfriends do their own thing unless there's a specific scene or line that NEEDS to be included. A script would take some of the fun out of it.

Cereal monsters seems fine by me. They'd be hyped up as a terrifying final encounter before Eustace, turn out to be completely milquetoast, and then scare Courage anyway. The thread still has enough meat on its bones to address anything else without limiting other discussion too.

The threads have been following the same formula described in >>80553793 for a while now. A select few are usually usually the ones step up and present an outline that we decided to use as a proper framework. I'm not sure if those select few will also be able to provide good enough dialogue to flesh out the specified scenes we have laid out. I can't imagine a proper dialogue being born of spitballed ideas being suggested by 30 or so people. It would be pretty hard to get wheels turning. If someone thinks they are capable of thinking up a goof dialogue , maybe they should look to work with our drawfag outside the thread, then have pages presented to the thread for review and tweaking?

We can't be that many people. Honestly, I'm letting Part 1 mostly move along naturally. I haven't put too much into it.

I did put a bit more work put into Part 2 and 4 though. If we just put it up here and let people make appropriate changes and say when one page is the finalized one it might work.

That way we don't have one person decide to change everything without everyone else being around to correct on the details.

If we lose general participation this project might die. Anyways, if we get too divided on some things, we can just strawpoll those issues like the last few times.

General participation is good. That's how we went from Stands to Melody in Part 1.

Someone earlier in the thread mentioned that they could be dangerously proficient in Melody because they're so dumb they believe that anything could happen. Going off that idea, they could do practically anything with Comedy Melody because they think everything is funny. Figured the second phase worked well at referencing the chorus of the song. Like it makes opponents feel like they're being crushed at the bottom of the ocean or something.

The whole stand's power set actually works very well with the song. I'm glad someone brought up the fact that it was in a Grim Adventures episode. Goes to show how much I suck at coming up with stand names.

Because it seems like there might end up being a lull in discussion again like last time, I am going to be looking through the pastebins for characters which seem to have solid places in the story but do not have stands yet (those that are in parts that have stands that is). I'll start by making a few adjustments to Mandy's Stand as some have suggested.

Not sure if I succeeded but this ability seems more in line with Pinky's character in the show. Feel free to suggest more appropriate or interesting ideas.

Will probably try Inspector Gadget and Penny next since there was some discussion over them having stands of some kind.

I was informed that there was an episode of Grim Adventures that prominently featured the song 'Once in a Lifetime' by Talking Heads. I listened to the song and realized that the power I came up with for the stand was eerily representative of the lyrics and theme of the song. Since it was something that actually came up in the show Mandy is from I thought it would be a better fit overall opposed to 'Don't Fear the Reaper', which I just chose because it had 'Reaper' in the title.

I was wondering how Gadget would 'die' given that he is mostly robotic, so the idea is that the Stand he gains from the Jawbreaker will eventually lead to him being impossible to repair with current technology due to his Stand ironically making him more 'human' and thus turning his cybernetic parts into some incomprehensible mashup of organic tissue and machine matter. This power would also be 'useless' without being completely lame or pointless.

I had an idea for Fortunate Son's power

Sort of like Tusk Act 2, Fortunate Son can create holes on any surface, but unlike Tusk, it can't just move them around, it has to physically touch the holes to pull or drag them across surfaces, and also unlike Tusk, the holes don't cause damage, they, however, can pull things into them if the surface they are attached to is fragile or flimsy enough (so flesh, cloth, glass, ect) the holes acting like drains in a tub. Holes can be connected together, even if they aren't on the same object, or even on similar surfaces, and Plucky and Fortunate Son can enter the holes completely and travel to connected holes if they choose to. The holes are never any bigger than a tub drain.

Wouldn't that be fairly simple to work around though? JoJo logic implies people would catch on that it's about pants right quick and they'd just ditch the pants. Which is funny, but hardly big bad worthy. I feel like a "save or suck" situation is called for, a catch 22 where his stand makes it suck to be wearing pants but not wearing pants only makes him stronger.

Well no, cause Stand battles are never just that simple. The guy he's fighting would think "Oh damn this is simple, now that I took my pants off theres no reason to fear his Stand!" and then Red Guy suddenly smacks him in the face with a pair of pants and [TOYPAJ] starts digging it's hook hand into the back of the guy's head, so it's discovered that a person doesn't actually have to wear pants, just having pants touching you counts as 'wearing' and thats when Red Guy pulls out a bunch of pants like DIO with knives

Well anons it's been great. I must go sleep now, I estimate chapter 1 to be about 28-30 pages and I'll be uploading about 2-4 at a clip.

Depending on the day I can probably get 3-5 pages done per day (not counting inking or adding words)

With ink and words I can probably get 2 pages a day consistently.

Does this sound like an acceptable rate? unfortunately I work 5 days of the week so on those days it would be probably the minimum 3 pages

The only thing I'm not sure about is the appearance. I picked Plucky's clown costume because I think it could be used to retroactively make a joke about how his role as a protagonist was hijacked by Rolf once Red Guy's Clown-like Stand is revealed at the end, sort of like implying that there was supposed to be a connection but it wound up being meaningless. Alternative suggestions for appearances would be much appreciated.

If we are doing the idea of LOSS, why couldn't it be Andy from Bomango. The original Bomango before VanHeist decided to do a soft reboot.

For an Anon on the thread where we saw Andy and Gogo finally kissed made an interesting idea from the final page of the comic. He said that Didi looked sad, not because of Gogo and Andy's relationship, but because of the fact that she knew some shit was going to happen which would destroy the happiness which they both deserved.

So Andy being the main character might work as he has experienced LOSS and the entire arc of his story would be him moving on with his life and accepting the destruction of his happiness.

I was drawing upon the confusion surrounding Red Guy's equivalent in Part 5, but I'm not sure if Patrick has that sufficiently covered.

Pastebinfag here, the amount of progress that was made while I slept is astounding. You guys are fucking beautiful.

I'll try to update everything before this hits page 10. The only slight issue is Inspector Gadget gaining a Stand - last time Part 4 was discussed, most people wanted him to remain competent but clueless on Stands. That's why I try not to paste raw data into individual parts in case it doesn't reflect prior discussion. I'll include his Stand anyway and we can discuss later if people like that development more.

Lets be honest, in a situation involving Stands, characters without Stands can't do much, especially in combat. The reasons Hayato and Lucy Steel could do anything is cause they weren't combatants, and used their wits against Stand users, but honestly if Kira or Diego had decided to get rid of them from the start neither of them could have done a thing to stop them. Gadget could luck his way through one battle, but it would make the enemies seem really incompetent if Gadget goes through multiple Stand fights and still wins despite not knowing anything about Stands, least of all being able to see them.

Well the plan was for him to go through at least 3 battles on his journey. He's going to be fighting relatively minor Stand users precisely because they thought it was going to be easy pickings.

But he is still a weaponized cyborg, so he can do pretty well against most people.

Of course, once he's up against Fred, and has only just received his stand and is more distracted by it than enhanced by it.... well that's where his Bizarre Adventure ends.

Well if his Stand progressively changes him till he can feel again, it wouldn't make sense for it to pop in at the end, rather than at the start, that way through the three battles he gets hurt, his Stand fixes him up, and then he encounters Fred and gets hurt, but his Stand fixes him up to the point that he feels like a real human again, which distracts him long enough for Fred to finish him off.

He could go maybe one or two battles without it. Maybe the end of the second one is when he gets badly hurt the first time, but he manages to get his stand by the end and it starts fixing him. Then his arc would progress from there with his third battle and then his death when the Stand backfires on him against Fred

I think that works perfectly. First fight he has no Stand, so we see he is 'capable' of fighting Stand users without one, but then gets the jawbreaker maybe at the end, or at the beginning of the second fight, and the second one is where he learns about Stands and realizes what they can do, even learning about his own ability. Third one could be a combo fight with him and someone else, and then he runs into Fred

Thanks for the hard work. I felt really bad seeing the thread title and those empty spaces under some of the character profiles in the pastebin. I figured we should at least have placeholders for all the characters we did have in the pastebin before throwing out suggestions for more characters to be added.

That said, I think everyone with a clearly defined part or a place in the pastebin has a stand/stand power associated with them except for Argit and Dipper (if I forgot anyone I apologize). So I'll be throwing them out there before heading to bed myself. Keep up the good work guys.

'Glory Road' and 'Things' were names originally taken from other Nancy Sinatra songs, but since the items they are associated with have a much looser connection to Dora I think the songs you picked work. Adds some variety to the playlist I think.

Thanks but it was >>80559547 's idea not mine. I'll generally try to avoid coming up with stands for characters I'm not too familiar with, best leave that to people who actually know the characters well. I'll just be compiling what I find that seems interesting so its easier for Pastebin editing later.
