For realsies, the guy's obviously in the closet but obviously isn't gay: He's the definition of repressed and gay guys don't cheat on their wives with women.
There's not that many other options for dudes in "LGBT".
He's awkward around men, very very comfortable around women, holds no misogynistic views, has devoted his life to embodying an idealised representation of a man and still fails miserably, displays stereotypical empathetic and compasionate behavior, aaaand is submissive to a pathological fault.
