The Crystal Gems may be terrorists, but the Homeworld Gems are racist colonialists.

The only party that seems innocent in this case are the humans, who also seem to be uncommonly dimwitted and complacent in this universe. The Earth is littered with Gem technology. Tons of the stuff, just wasting away in ruins and ancient battlefields across the planet. And it's all untouched by governments that should, if they had any ounce of curiosity or wisdom, be investigating and reverse-engineering to prepare for the inevitable return of the Homeworld Gems.
