Next full fairy tale from Disney with a mix of Tangled and Frozen staff.

There's been a few Jack and the Beanstalk adaptations over the last decade or so, all were terrible but it looks like they're deviating heavily from the original story so might be good.

It was the year's big pixar film and it was outgrossed by both Ice Age 4 and Madagascar 3 by considerable margins.

Sold tiny amounts of merchandise too.

It made $500mill but Disney would have wanted it to make almost twice that, especially without lucrative merchandise.

1) Merida is not a young princess, especially with females like Ariel on the official line and being quite frankly number 1 in many people's eyes.

2) Brave flopped? Let me put it to you this way, Wreck It Ralph was considered a box office success despite it not making much at all, didn't even crack 500 mil which is the standard for CGI animated films. Brave succeeded.

1) Wasn't she 12-13? Arial (and a bunch of other Disney princesses) are 15 according to story but 17-19 in practice, some of them looking well into twenties.

2) Wreck it Ralph was the B-movie that was even moved to fill a gap in the schedule and it didn't have anywhere near the marketing push of Brave, the summer blockbuster.
