>>80155208It really is. Imagine you were so sensitive to vibrations that you could sense things through walls. Perhaps you don't really "see", but through vibrations... the heart beating, that traveling through the body in bloodflow, into the ground, through your feet and back to you, for an instant, it's like you're connected and reconnected, again and again. In a way, almost like they're part of you and you're part of them.
The people in matches, they came and went.
Aang and Sokka were friends. Practically family, even, and she was with them for months. Every single twitch, every swing of sword and staff, intimately familiar with every single movement they made in any moment unless they left the touch of the ground.
We already know Toph's sensitive enough to minor differences in how the body moves to be able to tell if most people are lying.
Can you imagine all of that, just... gone? Can't see shit, having to repeatedly tap on the ground with your feet only to feel over and over that there's no response, just a motionless void, a soft fuzz in the senses. Then when their bodies were carried away, you're trying to look away, to focus on something else--in vain! Every step of the carriers' would bring that image to you, again and again. Your friend. Their body remains, but it's no longer everything you once knew about them.
Forget having no mouth and needing to scream.
Try being blind, yet unable to look away.
