Honestly, I'll be following the news, but I don't have high hopes. The most interesting thing seems to be that DC is trying to have the comics reflect their live action properties a bit more.
But if DC really wants to fix their problems, they need to stop treating their books as if single issues don't matter -- ESPECIALLY as it applies to C/D-lister characters.

But that's somewhat obviously not true. The highest selling trades...are from the highest selling books. The two "original" trades from DC -- The Dark Knight Returns and Watchmen -- were very popular books during their initial monthly release. I mean, hell, Watchmen is based on fake versions of D-lister characters, and it still managed to be a big seller (even with its higher price point).
The concept of "writing for the trade" is one of the many things killing DC.
