You've got a guy who talks to fish and uses a cumbersome melee weapon. You've got a robot man using technology that could easily just be used by any regular human. You've got a guy who, again, simply uses technology and is trained in martial arts anyone could have. You've got a woman with centuries old weaponry and a rope that makes people tell the truth. You've got a guy who run extremely fast, which is extremely useful, but Superman can already do that, and typically just a hair slower.

Superman's the whole team. I mean, they're good for taking down your local purse snatcher or street gang even, but not so much when it comes to world eaters.

Not really considering the threats the JLA face, how powerful, experienced, and effective each member is, and the context of it all taking place in a superhero universe. Superman may be one of the most powerful members, but he's only one member of the team.

I don't think you've ever read a JL comic book ever. It's the same concept as the Avengers.

It's pretty much solely b/c of Geoff Johns and the fact that Cyborg was on the Justice League in Superfriends.

I fucking hate Cyborg being on the League at all. Give me J'onn any day. Honestly if they needed a black guy, they could've went with Mr. Terrific.

To be fair, Mr. Terrific is more of a tech hero than Batman is.

I hate this b/c it just seems like massive wasted potential. No one wants Cyborg on the JL except for Geoff Johns. It's not the JL without J'onn ffs.

I've always assumed the decision was influenced by Johns but not masterminded by him. He put a lot of focus on Cyborg during Flashpoint and updating B and C listers to make them more palatable is his ever continuing aim, it seems.

Can I talk ahout Aquaman for a sec here? He is a character that suffered under some bad writers and I think gets a lot of undeserved disrespect. He is an earth born Superman, with an almost equivalent powerset. His involnerability comes from being able to survive at depth with tons of pressure pushing at him. This same depth he is moving through gives him hs strength too, its gotta be like moving through concrete 24 hours a day. Then also the enhanced senses from the darkness down there tuning all his senses. He cannot fly, but like an early Superman with those strong legs he can leap tall buildings with a single bound. He does not have heat vision, but he does have an equivalent in hard water projection as his range weapon.

Throw in some cool historical fantasy Atlantis stuff. With him being a monarch you get some cool Arthurian feels at times and some great castle intruige. Well handled he could be as big as Superman. I just hope heis handled well in the movie, but my secret wish is for DC to get a good novelist and do a good Aquaman solo novel.
