Adult in the context of cartoons, in the US anyway, does not imply it is "Grown up" or "mature", or even that adults would enjoy it

The only thing "adult" implies is that it has imagery and language inappropriate for kids

I still watch Family Guy even though it's mostly boring shit. I might get 1 or 2 laughs out of an episode.
