"Vore fetishism" is complicated, with multiple potential facets of arousal for those that possess the paraphilia; this is reflected most clearly in the inconsistency of subject matter within content featuring vorarephilia, indicated by posing such questions as: what are the genders occupying the potential roles within a piece of vore media (both genders, man or woman, with perhaps only a slight bias to the latter), for what reasons is it happening, what happens to all parties involved after consumption occurs, is consumption whole or via mastication or other, what are the physical sizes of the parties involved (potentially vast disparities), which orifices are being used to consume someone or thing (don't look into this, it's utterly vile), and who knows what else. It occupies a vast spectrum of horrifying possibilities, hybridising with other paraphilias more than perhaps any single fetish in existence.
As alluded to earlier, some men (and maybe women) are aroused by its ties to being within the body, the womb, and so their brains sexualise being consumed by a female -- the frequency of paraphilia overlap, as mentioned, means this is commonly not a human woman. It is almost always a "heterosexual" interaction within the content, between a man and a woman, the woman being the consumer. This can go one step further, wherein they're aroused by direct reversal of the birth process, and the vagina itself is used as the consuming orifice.
Another anon alluded to dominance and power dynamics, about how consuming someone else and adding them to yourself was the ultimate show of power and domination over another; this is also extremely common, and may tap into the same primal source from which fetishism of rape and cannibalism spring. These kinds of interactions mostly feature a male in the consuming position, with as often as not a male or female being consumed.
This is just scratching the surface. There's so much more, and it's all awful, but fascinating.
