>>78090706Because the majority of Marvel's writers aren't good enough to write for tv/movies. This studio has been going almost a decade in present form; two years of development just to get the first movies out in 2008. In all that time, despite knowing the guys at the top, certain names have never appeared (and never will) as writing credits on any of these movies. It's a bitter pill to swallow for some; finding out they're big fish in a very small pond and will never be anything else.
Doubly so when you consider there are those who've made it out. But even with 2 movies a year and a couple of ongoing series, there really isn't a shot for most of them. There's a lot more writers out there with better experience and better skill.
But you know when you see a kid get scared of, like, dinosaurs or big dogs or something they saw in a movie, and then over the next couple of days they start play-acting the thing that scared them? It's that. That's why they make movie comics. They have no idea if it will sell or not, they aren't trying to make the books reader-friendly to movie fans, they're just trying to symbolically absorb the power of the movies, as though following the most basic trappings of plot and character can make them better writers. In reality, they're just writing fanfics, and for the same reason fanfic writers do it: because nobody will ever take them seriously and their ideas are hot garbage.
