I never saw that episode, but the number of times Simpsons has ended on irredeemably selfish notes in modern day has given me no doubt in my mind it ended just like that. Like that episode where Homer and Bart staged a fake series of biblical plagues to get people to run a preacher that'd replaced Lovejoy out of town, in spite of the fact that everyone liked him. Or that episode where Marge and Homer got legal guardians for their kids in case they died unexpectedly, then fired them because they got jealous the guardians were doing a better job parenting during their trial-run of caring for Bart and Lisa than they were.
I haven't watched "Simpsons" in years. I don't intend to. It's a liberal mouthpiece and an outrageous embarrassment to what it was.
