>>77144889But the thing about ramping them up from street level to Cosmic tier shit, you just can't expect them to go back to the status quo. It's ridiculous. You'll have to evolve their villains, too. Batman's biggest foe back was Ra's Al'Ghul, and he was an international terrorist - used sparingly, in fact. From the 80s he only ever played a major role in 3-4 story arcs and had a side role in the death of the original Batwoman.
Now Batman's mixing it around with cosmic-tier beings like Metron and the Source Wall entities and you expect to thrill us with tales of him going against the Joker and Two-Face with the might and knowledge of aeons and superior technology. There's a reason you don't, and shouldn't, lift the characters up like that - when you bring them back to the status quo you lose all the magic.
Batman went in Metron's chair. You're saying now he has trouble with Maroni's boys? Come on.
That being said, give me back my fucking detective, DC. Morrison bringing in the concept of a cosmic, sci-fi presence into Batman was the last straw on me enjoying the character.
