>>77069506It's really not because of Steven Universe, it's because to tumblr's echochamber culture and sjw mentality. I've seen similar shit happen in other fandoms.
Hell, there used to be this guy, an engineering student or something I think, who ran this great tumblr add-on called xkit, it was super useful and mitigated every shitty "update" the staff sprang on them, for free (with a donation button), nifty features, great stuff.
Then some attention-hungry asshole tumblrinas decided that he was "problematic" because he made a joking post about people who claimed to be triggered by tumblr's april fools joke (it was a video with eerie atmospheres that made you think it might be a jumpscare, but nothing happened in it), or something like that, saying he wonders how these people survive when they leave the house, or something.
He got declared problematic, blogs sprang up literally requesting tumblrinas to send anonymously nasty stories they might him ("people have a right to know if he's a potential predator"), all sorts of rumours with zero evidence started to circulate and he got depressed and ran off tumblr.
Now there is no more fantastic, free fix-everything application. A lot of people were livid.
But yeah, tumblr will turn on its own in a second. All it takes is someone with a personal beef who starts a "callout" blog or claims that you're problematic, it starts to get passed around, it becomes true, there's a neverending wave of hate because no matter what you say the original post with the accusations is still making rounds and your rebuttal will never be reblogged in tandem with it.
