I have absolutely zero idea of the events leading up to this. Peter is broke, Aunt May is living in a hole, and all of his "friends" hate him.
What became of his marriage, Parker Industries, and everything else which I remember from the last time I cared?
Is it Marvel policy that everything has to go into the dumpster twice a year? I looked into an X-book last week. I don't even recall which one. Honest, I tried, but absolutely nothing made sense. People who used to be teammates can't stand each other now and various Evil Mutants who'd tried to kill them (and a few million "normal" people) are now sitting around with them for doughnuts and coffee. Maybe everything was explained on page 6 -- but I couldn't make it that far.
