>>128262485You know, I thought about this for an inordinate amount of time and then it struck me: Exactly what DNA would God use for Jesus? I mean, thinking about it, there has to be a Y-chromosome at least that Jesus didn't get from Mary.
So thinking about that for an inordinate amount of time as well, the obvious solution finally slapped me across the face: Joseph's DNA.
Jesus's genealogy through Joseph appears in the Gospel twice, though differently, in Luke and Matthew, both culminating in Joseph who was the father of Jesus.
It stands to reason that Joseph was, both by virtue of his lineage and own merit, chosen to be the male material for Jesus's conception. Both he and his wife were virginal, and so was their genetic child.
I'm not a theologian, but I think that's an interesting hot take, if nothing else.
