Instead of just letting this scene speak for itself, they play this loud obnoxious K-Rock thing like “WELCOME TO THE PLAYGROUND ITS ROUGH HERE”.
It’s distracting, it’s unnecessary because it isn’t adding to the establishing shot, and the style of music doesn’t gel with the world or story. Fantasy lives and dies on its constructed world, you can’t just toss in contemporary music without fouling up the atmosphere.
Imagine if after Gandalf said “Fly, you fools!” Peter Jackson spliced in a pop song with lyrics like “AND NOW I’M SO SAD BECAUSE MY FRIEND JUST DIIIIIIEEEEEEEED”. That’s how I feel about all the songs they made for this show
