Evan Stanley's fancomic. That emerald is from it, and works more like the games', hence apparently turning Drakon Chaos into something more like game Chaos. Zachary's whole plotline is just tying and leading to the crossover with Evan's fancomic, and stuff that happens in it is going to have effects in this afterwards.

I realize I'm repeating myself so I won't after this. I know someone else is doing GOTF, and I don't think you should do all of it; but I really think you should do the two issues, let me see- Issues 17 and 18. 18 isn't finished yet, but still. STC has already continued from after when the crossover happens, and it continually refers back to it, so I do think it's worth it. Then leave it to someone else to storytime the rest of GOTF if they want.

On a surface level. With that hybrid lore that involves women from 3rd world countries giving birth to Sonic-people and Sally and the Freedom Fighters existing, it's not really like the games either.

Ok, for anons who haven't read GOTF, the very quick context is it's set in the future, Sonic is a ghost because he died long ago after killing his friends due to Eggman mind control, Shadow is still alive because immortal, the two are helping Silver get the Chaos Emeralds, Silver has two sisters and they recently fought a Metal Sonic and also Nicole who's evil here. Also Blaze is also from the future and is Silver's friend. I think that's all the overall context needed for the crossover.

They should be happy because one thing I kept hearing was how Fleetway was much closer to game canon than Archie was. This is just an SA1 do over and it even used StC's Super Sonic in the finale.

How long does this Comic go for? because if cream is a literal newborn child it would take 6 years for her to get to where she is in game canon, does the Comic's timeline stretch over 6 years or does she spend the entire run being a baby?

A Game Gear game that we know StC ignored, an Arcade Fighter that if I remember right didn't even come out in Europe, and Sonic Adventure, where once more, StC was already adapting that trait in. Honestly with reading these GOTF chapters, you can really tell Evan actually cared about the source material and didn’t try and shy away from it’s unique UK-ness, she wrote Sonic with attitude, an accent and had him spout cheesy insulting nicknames like he used to.

It's not a mistake if they literally were not told it was a thing. A mistake is getting things wrong. Knuckles having a metal necklace is a mistake. Tails just being a kid is simply them working with the Western localization. And what you're doing is shitting on them for doing their job, in the 90s, which was working with the 90s Western localization.

And even then, once more, Archie eventually did correct Tails, and StC seemed to be doing the same already in 2000 before being cancelled.

I'm getting mad over you acting like people writing a comic in 1992 in the US or the UK should've known what dedicated fans in 2021 know.

Writer of Sonic the Continuation is friends of writer of Ghosts of the Future, so the two comics crossed over. Issue 1 of the crossover, it's the GOTF characters who are in the STC world; Issue 2, a few of the STC characters go into GOTF world; and it's unfinished yet because the author of GOTF has official Sonic work to do now, so no idea if there's even going to be an Issue 3.

Japanese Tails can be capable as the games (especially Tails' Adventure and the Adventure duology) can attest to.
Meanwhile, the only western Tails to really grow into his own was Fleetway Tails (I think AOSTH Tails had his moments? Can't remember).

Eggman has to be very evil every issue, rape, torture, sell organs on black market and explode all the world capitols. Everytime Sonic sees it on a TV he should cry. Also new locations have to list their GPS coordinates, history, climate, landscape and economy (world currency is rings) for the proper worldbuilding experience. Sonic isn't allowed to use his name, he should be referred to as Freedom Fighter O. Freedom Fighter S is reserved for the main character of the comic, Sally. Team Rose are missing in action after the Chao Garden bombings. Bunnie should have an incurable sickness caused by the blonde hair genes that she tries to fight through, and Antoine isn't able to pay for it so he joins the Chaotix mercenary squad who are secretly triple agents for Eggman, government and the aliens. It's bad that she is a robot but also bad that she isn't. All the robots are people and it should be stated that killing them is bad. Also all the robots are evil because they're controlled by Eggman. Knuckles and Rouge should be treasure hunting all year round off-camera, leaving Tails to guard the Master Emerald, he's not responsible enough to join the Freedom Fighters anyway. Shadow should have a dedicated side comic which explains that the red stripes on his arms and legs aren't a coloration but scars from failed suicide attempts. Also Eggman installs the anti-teleportation field so when Blaze comes in from another world she immediately gets knocked out wherever she appears, and her fire powers are disabled. Silver can't participate in the comic because he fights Evil Silver (ally of Eggman) who is stronger because of his brainwashing, but he's aided by Sonic's children and the comic relief character: Omega.

Of course it's a shame that the imbeciles of your kind don't share the same proper vision as the enlightened Archie fans.

I don't think anyone's bothered that some elements of the game were incorporated into the comic.
I think it's more the tone of the posts talking about it, and the expectation that StC's writers should've known obscure, minor details of Sonic 'lore'

It's pretty obvious Okida likes Super Sonic and Ebony. And Grimer. And Porker. And Amy. I know there's complaints about him getting rid of or replacing a lot of characters but StC started doing that anyway. I still can't believe they dropped Plunder and the Marxio Brothers when they did. Props to this comic for bringing them back in.

The Marxios were spent as a joke by the time they were finished messing with Knuckles. Plunder definitely got done dirty when Fleetway dropped him, but putting him back into focus shouldn't come at the expense of Filch and Simpson.

When it started, it was about how Tails had lied in his letters home, and exaggerated so that he sounded like the big hero. And when he did it, he had been a slightly useless sidekick.
But by the last story, he'd really come into his own and was a much more assertive character. They could've had one last story where he really was the sort of hero he claimed he was,and it would've been fun to see the newly confident Tails playing off of Morain, as he's really just been pushed around by her before

What other stories? Kitching only had the main stories to work with. Stringer had his own characters be recurring. Did you already forget the reprints taking all the space?

Stuff like Tails' stories and those Double Sonic stories were still going when they were doing reprints and after Plunder and the Marxios were stopped being used. They just had random characters causing trouble. And as for their stories being done, the Marxios just got that one zone and were obviously being set up as causing more trouble and roping Sonic and Tails into other schemes but they just stopped.

And not written by Kitching. What part of "they didn't use each other's characters to not be stepping on toes" did you not get yet? If anything if they'd just told Stringer to use the characters, you'd be complaining now that they became very different from before since they'd be written by a different person.

I can't say I agree about Freedom Fighters being surely detached from, whatever does it really mean nowadays, "how is Sonic supposed to be", but I do agree the FFs are capable on their own. That's one good way to better flesh them out when you think about it. Archie Sonic has gifted more than sufficient of worldbuilding and a good comic cast, so it could no sweat separate from Sonic's brand and walk on its own.

Were SEGA more lax with their licensing and deals, there ought to be a good chance of another publisher stepping in and buying out the rights for SatAM properties, along Archie and StC.

Not them, but sometimes they can be fun to listen to, something like an audiobook or radio play.
Super Mario Adventures had a decent one and, while it's a parody fancomic, the Hiimdaisy Metal Gear comics got a solid dub.
