>>127804747Back to Spongebob, he's shocked that Squidward has left the food business. Soon enough, Mr. Krabs hires someone new to front the register. Spongebob lacks the same dynamic he had with the new hire than he did with Squidward, and finds them to be flavorless and uninteresting.
One particulary busy day, Spongebob is swamped with work, and the new hire keeps screwing everything up. Tensions mount, and eventually Spongebob and Krabs have a particularly spicy argument. In a rare moment of anger, Spongebob quits his job, with Krabs begging for him to stay. Spongebob soon goes back home, miserable.
Realizing that he's acquired his driver's license and the world is open up to him, Spongebob decides to purchase a boat.
Meanwhile, Squidward has been touring with his improved clarinet skills, capturing the hearts of thousands of Bikini Bottomites. Blind with stardom, Squidward moves away from Conch Street and into a mansion more fit for his fame. Squidward's cynicism has soon changed into a blissful joy.
On the same day Squidward is moving, Spongebob goes with Patrick to say goodbye. Waving Squidward off, the two are left alone. Spongebob explains to Patrick that he's quit his job at the Krusty Krab. Shocked, though understanding, Patrick decides to cheer up Spongebob by taking him jellyfishing.
Their session goes terribly, with Spongebob failing to catch a single jellyfish. Patrick tells Spongebob to cheer up, but the still-sour Spongebob lashes out against Patrick, bringing up his laziness, unemployment and generally poor character.
Spongebob goes home, and realizes that he can't remain at Conch Street anymore. He begins packing up all of his things (and Gary) onto his new boat.
Just as he's about to leave, Patrick stops him, and the two make amends, with Spongebob tearfully hugging Patrick and apologizing for everything he said, but Spongebob still believes that moving will be the best decision for him.
