>>127563616>Bryke are the kind of guys we made editors and managers for cause they'll just waste every good idea they got if you let them. That and a lot of the credit given to them should have been given to the team as a whole cause they clearly can't get the same result with different people. That's literally how every tv and movie production works. Even the greatest and most talented auteurs have lots of people supporting them and turning their work from a messy turd into a masterpiece. People have these unreasonable expectations for Bryke and they get very upset that they don't live up to this standard of universal men because they can't do everything on their own. They're ideas guys, artists and decent showrunners, but clearly not the best writers and need someone with actual writing skills like Ehasz to put their ideas into a coherent script. That doesn't somehow devalue their other talents.
>>127563637It was an act of desperation. The only people who still supported Bryke after the first season were tumblr fangirls, and they did this just to please them, and to deflect the criticism from the show with some forced last minute gay pairing. It's so laughably shallow and their virtue signaling attempt so transparent that if they tried this today twitter trannies and journos would rip them a new one. I mean, you could still finish the show without ever realizing Korra and Asami are a thing. That's how noncommitted this supposed pairing is.
I guess it's yet another proof that creators shouldn't listen to the fans and should stick to their own vision. In case of Bryke they listened to the fans too much and were constantly changing things with LOK just to appease them, which had some very blatantly negative effects on the show, but most of the fandom had completely turned on them after the first two seasons, which pushed Bryke into the tumblr echochamber, where they only got poor feedback and where korrasami was the most popular pairing.
