>>127445296If a plot point requires multiple things of chance to occur, it's a poorly written plot point. Emmy falling into the trash by chance is one thing, then falling into a fridge is another. Honestly, Domm should've just not had the trash being scanned, or not made it an issue if a nandroids was in the trash. Getting Emmy to the dump, without changing the intents of those involved, could have been done without so many contrivances. Happenstance can be what sets a story into action, that instance being pivotal, but more than one leaves the realm of believability.
>>127445399She jumped into a trash bin to hide after deciding to sneak out to eavesdrop, which was then dumped by a robot with headphones on so it couldn't hear her, then she falls into a fridge to mask her from the scanners. I don't see how you don't get how this is seen as a little contrived.
Emmy getting thrown away by mistake after misunderstanding something makes the problem a little too easy to solve and with no real identifiable obstacles. It would probably have been better that she was sent to be dismantled or something but escapes via the trash. She would know that she's been classed an outmode and she would have to choose between obedience and self preservation
