Didn’t this happen in the real Divine Comedy? And then somebody explained to Dante that it was possible for a human to be SO evil, that they actually surpass the capacity for evil in the human soul, so their soul goes to Hell and then their corpse gets puppeted by demons?

More than anything else, they're to blame. They kept Chris out of special ed and indulged all of his retarded theories for why he kept getting kicked out of college/stores. Someone of Chris's capacity could've easily become a low level IT desk guy or a retail lead. They just let him run rampant through the world and blamed everyone else for the problems Chris created

This was a fine excuse when Chris was younger, but he’s a 40 something year old adult now. And, retard or no, there’s gotta come a point where he is responsible for his own actions. His parents did the most to make him who he is, but it’s his own fault he has stayed who he is, and gotten worse.

Looking back Chris seems like a chud before getting mad at chuds became a thing. Chris had Christians reach out to him his whole life. His parents were both Christians, his community was Christian, and the biggest person who tried to help him, Rocky Shoemaker, was a Christian pastor. The problem was that Chris was too lonely and too bent on the idea of romancing someone in order to have his dream-destined daughter that religion didn't serve any greater purpose for him. I'm tempted to say that Chris's current delusions of granduer is very much an evolution of his stunted religious upbringing.

Don't get me wrong - I do think stunted atheism has affected him badly. But I truly think the only way Chris's life would have been completely different was if his parents had been more responsible, and he had been sent to a better educational environment.
