This is the kind of terrible idea Pixar would've made fun of a decade ago in a Toy Story movie, some shitty overdramatic Buzz Lightyear show or movie that is silly on its face because of Buzz' attitude and design.

I understand that they see dollar signs, but my point is that this looks fucking retarded and the dollars they get from it will be nil. The nostalgia they're trying to bait parents with has nothing to do with Buzz Lightyear's official backstory it has to do with Toy Story and Andy and Woody.

People say it a lot, but this really does feel like they're just completely out of ideas.

Why is this being done as a "humans are first exploring space" type story? Buzz Lightyear should be alive long after everything is established like Kirk in Star Trek. This should be crawling with unique aliens and a cool style to go along with it just like the cartoon show. Instead we're getting this boring, realistic Disney level looking movie. All the characters have anatomically correct human bodies but a cartoonish head slapped on them. If this didn't have Buzz, I'd say this was a Disney movie.
