>>126648045Well I was referring mostly to anime or other forms of media when I said other shows with better representation, honestly I'd say cartoons usually don't do such a good job portraying lgbt characters, whether they're not there, in the background, or the focus, still I've seen series do it better than this show, maybe my actual argument was that this sort of representation, with the trans character giving a little elementary school lesson about what being trans is like, and existing pretty much to give that lesson shouldn't be seen as desirable.
I would say the binary is created by our biological sex, gender identity is a social construct, but there is, generally as I said before, a binary to one's sex. There are things I would say are nonbinary, like snails that have both male and female reproductive organs, you can't really classify them as having separate sexes, but for the most part you can with humans and other primates like us. I guess I don't see much difference from being nonbinary with not conforming to gender roles, but in your case it would be not wanting to be put in a box at all. I'm not really any closer to understanding this position I'll be honest, but I do respect giving insight into your position, sort of what I was fishing for by being so inflammatory. I cut the shit and say, probably not going to see eye to eye with you on this, to me that binary of sex is the whole reason gender was even constructed in the first place, to do away with it is to go back to viewing each other as male, female, or at the very best intersex, but honestly appreciate the chill response considering I was being a dick.
