It would have been nice if the original Nomura characters were designed as well as Walt's. They just don't come anywhere close to their level of liveliness and personality, the presence of Donald and Goofy as well as classic Disney and renaissance is what gives the games that sense of Disney magic. Sora isn't bad, in fact he's a fine character and the other Nomura originals can be neat too, but compared to the Disney stuff the others just seem so bland. I get that disconnect has become part of the appeal, but I would have liked to see a version of Kingdom Hearts where every original character was up to Walt's standards.
