>>126486424At what fucking point was shown he was happy, all I got from it was that he stopped giving a shit about having anything more and just let himself be defeated. That doesn’t look happy to me, it looks like he’s resigned to stagnation.
And perhaps he was never that strong but as the series went on he kept losing more fights and was portrayed as dumber and more useless.
And then he was never allowed to become stronger or more skilled whilst everyone around him was allowed to triumph and become stronger.
Every character flaw Finn had was exaggerated and every strength he had was downplayed and after overcoming things (which were mostly lol maturity and emotional bullshit that’s NOT FUN to watch) he stops hurting but never gets better than where he was before which is fucking lame. It’s not fun to watch a main character be degraded and nerfed like this and never get noticeably better because god knows that “maturity” and “emotional understanding” doesn’t amount to shit.
He had no heroic triumphs to show how strong he had become and the ones he did win were because of a deus ex machina in the grass arm or whatever or were immediately taken away from him like when gumbald betrayed them after the nightmare potion.
I don’t care how much you will insist that Finn is happy or was never that strong, but his character progression (which was often two steps back one step forward) was handled poorly and completed in an unsatisfactory manner due to writer incompetence and straight out refusal to let him really grow. He should have been allowed to become stronger and become equal to his peers there too.
His arc over the latter half of the show just wasn’t fucking fun and felt like regression rather than becoming stronger and learning and that displeased me greatly. Please explain to me your point of view so I can maybe see something that you do because as it is I see nothing for Finn to be happy about
Also you forgot the comet reincarnation stuff.
