>>126139202>That being said I'd argue "toxic masculinity" is the reason people hate seeing make sexuality on TVYou're right, but for the wrong reasons. "Toxic Masculinity" is something that was made up by feminists and its definitions are used directly to control and neuter male sexuality and masculinity.
Bond is great for illustrating this. When Connery played him, he was peak masculinity for the time, and it was considered normal and healthy. These days, people treat him as some sort of out of control rapist, filled with "toxic masculinity" and an example of what "men should never be." Thing is, if you had James Bond come out in one of his movies with a raging boner as he plowed one of his girls...not a man in the audience would have really said shit about it. But these days, with our Bond stripped ever more of that "toxic masculinity" the idea of something like that become alien. Bond no longer seduces women with the power of his manliness, he is caught somewhere between seducer and seduced, lacking the "toxic" masculinity that made him a driving force in the encounters.
Thing is, men do not in general fear other men's sexual power (at least not straight men). Men see a man doing better than them, and they are inspired to try and do better themselves. This includes sexually, or it did.
"Toxic Masculinity" is merely the demonetization of male sexuality, an attempt to neuter it. A man being "Dominant" is "toxic" which is why you will never see a straight male dom in any tv show that addressed BDSM, for example. Or why you won't be allowed to see a compent husband in a sitcom, because "that's toxic masculinity that oppresses women." the list goes on.
