in spain they only dubbed *some* lines for some reason, it was awful

If sfx are playing while he's talking (or another character is talking at the same time) they have to redub it. Most dubs would end up redubbing everything just so the voice is consistent between all scenes.

that very well may have been it, but obviously i don't care enough to try and get a hold of some dubbed episodes to look for a pattern

the way i remember it though they wouldn't even keep it consistent within the same episode - sometimes it was dimaggio's raddas, sometimes the crappily dubbed in ones

we were at the top of our game for most of the 80s, 90s and early 00s but since then all the good talent has been gradually retiring or dying off and very few worthwhile people have stepped up to fill their shoes
