>>125817910>Do you think the original show still would have been good if Frank Darabont remained as showrunner?Yes. I think it would have continued the trend Seasons 1 and 2 had of being similar to the comics in broad strokes but still doing its own thing.
I liked the zombies being able to run in some instances, being slightly smart, and the whole unnerving-ness of them retaining a little of their memory. The flashbacks to the early days were also really cool and Darabont had a lot of cool ideas.
I personally enjoyed the show through Season 6, and that's basically where I stop when I rewatch. The cliffhanger was the first huge red flag, Season 7 quickly went downhill. Season 8 was honestly garbage and the first time since I first began watching(I caught up during the Season 2 midseason break and watched live when it picked up) that I missed the show live for weeks at a time.
Carl's death was the final straw. I've seen a few things since like the Season 8 finale, Rick's last ep, Jesus' death, the pike scene(god the butchered it) and Alpha's death. All have convinced me I made the right decision to quit
